Dr. Nolan is a statistician, author, and consultant. He is a member of Associates in Process Improvement, a consulting firm that specializes in the improvement of quality and productivity. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Over the past twenty years, he has assisted organizations in many different industries in the United States, Canada, and Europe including chemical and automotive manufacturing, distribution, health care, and social services. Among his clients is a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Dr. Nolan holds a doctorate in statistics from George Washington University. He has coauthored three books on improving quality and productivity. He has published articles in a variety of peer-reviewed journals as diverse as the Noise Control Engineering Journal and the British Medical Journal. He was the year 2000 recipient of the Deming Medal awarded by the American Society for Quality.
